Kara Frei’s love for storytelling began early and grew through her education. She graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University with a degree in secondary English education. This foundation gave her the tools to teach middle and high school English, where she could share her enthusiasm for literature and writing.

Her dedication to students earned her several honors, including the 2007 South Dakota Council of Teachers of English Young Leader award and the 2009-2010 South Dakota VFW High School Teacher of the Year. These awards reflect her ability to connect with young people and inspire them through stories.
